East Village
PLAY BALL! Those words were first heard in April 2004 at the downtown stadium Petco Park, built for the San Diego Padres. Since then, the explosion of activity in this 325 acre neighborhood has taken downtown by storm. Home to many artists, studios, galleries and shops, this area, dubbed the Soho of the West, is also home to the new Main Library, parks and a dramatic system linking Balboa Park to San Diego Bay. Over 30 condominium towers and mixed-use projects are underway or newly completed and this dynamic area is on its way to an exciting finish.
