Welcome to the coastal California city of San Diego, nicknamed “America's Finest City.” This seventh largest city in the United States is also one of the most picturesque, with miles of beaches, deep canyons separating its mesas, mountains rising to the east, and surrounding parks. San Diego is also home to the Navy and Marine Corps bases, plenty of universities, businesses and real estate.

Downtown San Diego is a dynamic and flourishing area of the city, housing a diverse mix of cultures, cuisine, businesses, and real estate. Located on San Diego Bay itself, the downtown residences are more modern than other areas in San Diego, as more properties are being sold, and condomiums and contemporary houses are built for young families and professionals. Aside from the exciting downtown district, there are plenty of neighborhoods in San Diego that offer a diverse mix of real estate options.

The Gaslamp Quarter, one of the historic downtown neighborhoods of San Diego, is named for the gas lamps that lined the streets decades ago. The condominums here are attractive, and many buildings and houses for sale are Victorian-style. Just north of downtown San Diego is the quaint neighborhood of Little Italy, filled with Italian restaurants and businesses. The real estate and houses in this district are mostly Mediterranean-style, though there are plenty of modern condominiums and lofts for the hipper residents.

The uptown neighborhoods of San Diego are also worth looking into for prime real estate. Hillcrest is an affluent, historic, and mostly residential, featuring tree-lined streets, luxury mansions and traditional houses for sale. Next to it lies Mission Hills, on the rolling hills overlooking the harbor, where many of the early pioneers resided. The real estate in Mission Hills is upscale and historical, and many houses are California bungalows, craftsman homes, Spanish revival and Misson-style. Bankers Hill is also one of the older upscale neighborhoods, with restored Victorian mansions, new condominiums, and charming courtyard apartments sharing space with commercial development, all with a good view of the ocean or the park.

Whatever home or piece of real estate you're interested in, realtors Raye Scott, Francine Finn and their associates are ready and willing to assist you.
